Sokolow (1910- 2000) was noted for her socially conscious dances. She helped found the Living Theater, and taught there and at Julliard. She fostered the development of modern dance in Mexico and Israel.
There are two 10 x 8-inch photographs (uncredited) of her in characteristic poses from the 1950’s. There is also a more formal portrait, 7 x 5- inches. A larger 12 x 16- inches shows her with her company or students. All are fondly dedicated and signed.
The large print has some edge tears.
