8 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ gelatin silver print of chilling image of mother fleeing with her child to safety. The verso has a stamp and handwritten caption that reads, “This mother shows the stark horror of the situation as she and her family flee from the square block of Jewish occupied buildings in the Jewish district of Jerusalem which were blasted to rubble last Sunday, Feb. 22nd.”

Another photograph from this group of three assembled as part of an appeal to raise funds to help destitute jews overseas. Part of the description on verso reads: “Jewish refugees from pogroms and anti-Semitism in Poland wait at the railroad station at the frontier town of Nachod for transportation to the displaced persons camps in American zones of Germany and Austria.”

The third photograph depicts a mother and her child.
